JEAN-FRANCOIS HEITZ Jean-Francois Heitz retired as Deputy Chief Financial Officer in September 2003 from Microsoft Corporation. Until April 2000, he was Corporate Treasurer, responsible for all capital markets, global cash management, foreign exchange, corporate finance, credit and risk management activities; he won the Overall Treasury Alexander Hamilton Awards in 1999. He moved to the U.S. 13 years ago, coming from France where, from 1989 to 1991, he was General Manager, Business Operations for Microsoft France and from 1993 to 1994 was Director F&A for Microsoft Southern Europe. Prior to joining Microsoft in 1989, Jean-Francois spent 9 years with Matra SA (Groupe Lagardere), a French multinational high-tech conglomerate, in various Finance and Business functions, 2 years with Envirotech Corp. as a sales and marketing manager in their European subsidiary, and 4 years with Air Liquide in Operations Research. He holds a mathematics, engineering and business degree from l’Ecole Nationale Superieure des Mines de Paris (valedictorian) and a master’s degree from Stanford University (summa cum laude.)
