Industrial Wind Case Studies New Mexico Wind Energy Center
In many countries around the world, wind and solar energy have emerged as commercially viable sources of power. Xantrex is a premier designer and manufacturer of power conversion systems for wind turbine and solar photovoltaic systems. For example, in order to increase the amount of electricity produced without polluting the atmosphere, a new windplant near the town of House in the state of New Mexico has been built with Xantrex supplied equipment.
Arranged along a 20-mile long mesa, there are 136 General Electric 1.5 Megawatt wind turbines attached to 80-metre tall towers on the site. At the heart of each tower, a Xantrex converter harnesses the considerable energy created by the wind.
