What Professional Credentials do I need to be an installer/ dealer? If you are new to the industry, and want to learn more about training and accreditations, there are several organizations that can assist. North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP): NABCEP offers both solar-electric and solar-thermal certification – certifications that involve written tests, and require field experience. NABCEP offers certifications and certificate programs to renewable energy professionals throughout North America. NABCEP began that work by creating a certification program for solar electric installers—referred to as the NABCEP™ Solar PV Installer Certification.
