The European Union has issued the RoHS and WEEE Directives in response to rising environmental concerns regarding electronic equipment. This web page is intended to keep Xantrex customers informed about our plans and directions regarding these directives.

After reviewing these directives, we have determined that only some of our Portable products fall within the scope of the RoHS and WEEE Directives. For the latest list of Xantrex products that are or will be RoHS compliant please visit our RoHS compliant products page. This list will be updated as we confirm the dates when further products will be RoHS compliant.

While most Xantrex products do not fall within the categories covered by these directives, Xantrex recognizes and values the protection of the environment afforded by regulations such as the RoHS and WEEE Directives. To that end, Xantrex is moving toward RoHS compliance in new designs, is actively converting some existing products to be RoHS compliant, and is registering for WEEE programs as applicable.

Regarding the use of lead in solder and in the lead-tinning of electronic components, Xantrex is investigating the use of alternative solder formulations so that product reliability and quality are not compromised. We are working actively with our supply chain in order to develop environmentally responsible alternatives.
