VICE PRESIDENT, WIND AND EUROPEAN SOLAR BUSINESS Bernd Kohlstruck, Dipl. Ing.
Kohlstruck joined Xantrex in September 2001 from Alstom/Ballard, a joint-venture of Alstom and Ballard Power Systems, where he was instrumental in forging a number of key business alliances and also participated in negotiations to set-up the joint venture. Under his leadership as Managing Director, Alstom/Ballard became an important player in fuel cells for stationary applications in Europe. He brings to Xantrex extensive experience in sales, marketing, and business development in the distributed power business in Europe and North America. He has spoken at important conferences in Europe and the US on trends in Distributed Power markets. Before joining Alstom/Ballard, Kohlstruck spent a decade as Managing Director for both Power Supply Systems and Decentralized Power Supply at AEG, a German electric company. He also held senior sales management and project engineering positions at Piller KG, a leading company in the UPS and Premium Power business. Kohlstruck is a qualified power electronics engineer and owns several patents related to uninterrupted power supply solutions with fuel cells. He was a member of the World Fuel Cell Council, COGEN Europe (trade association for the promotion of sustainable energy), the ASUE (association for renewable energy), and the German Forum for Renewable Energy. Kohlstruck was Chairman for the Distributed Power Conference 2000 held in Nice, France. | ||
