Monitor provides vital performance information and has optional PC communication capabilities
AMSTERDAM, NETHERLANDS, November 18, 2003 – Xantrex Technology Inc. introduced a new battery monitor for the European market at this year’s Marine Equipment Trade Show (METS) in Amsterdam.
"The Xantrex Battery Monitor provides complete information about battery status and is a must-have product for the boater," said Kevin Binnie, product manager for Xantrex marine systems. "An advanced monitor like this provides vital performance information and will help boaters better manage shipboard power and battery life-time."
The Battery Monitor's digital liquid crystal display shows battery voltage, current, consumed Amp hours, state-of-charge, time-to-go and temperature (with optional temperature sensor). It also indicates if the battery is fully charged or needs recharging. Using the Battery Monitor's multi-function display and easy-to-use interface, boaters can recall any parameter by simply pressing a button.
With an optional external communications interface, the Xantrex Battery Monitor is able to communicate with a personal computer. The optional, Windows 2000/XP-based software enables the user to select and display multiple parameters on a PC. The Xantrex Battery Monitor can also be programmed from the PC and its data can be saved to disc.
The Xantrex Battery Monitor is compatible with 12- and 24-volt DC systems and works with any battery type. The battery monitor comes with a DC shunt and a one year warranty. The monitor will be on display at the Marine Equipment Trade Show (METS) in Amsterdam (Booth #10.031) on November 18, 19, and 20.
