Xantrex to unveil new sine-wave power solutions at ICUEE 2009
(Download PDF version)

Vancouver, B.C., September 24, 2009 – Xantrex Technology Inc., a subsidiary of Schneider Electric, announces it will launch new sine-wave products, designed for commercial and utility vehicles, at The International Construction and Utility Equipment Exposition (ICUEE) to be held in Louisville, Kentucky from October 6 – 8, 2009.  The new line-up of cost effective, sine-wave products include the Freedom SW Inverter/Chargers and the PROwatt™ SW Inverters. Xantrex will exhibit the new products in booth#1640.

The new Freedom SW Inverter/Chargers provide utility-grade, sine-wave power to operate sensitive electronics and appliances. The Freedom SW Series is one of the most affordable sine-wave inverter/charger line on the market. The easy-to-operate Freedom SW 2000 has a high surge rating to complement its power-factor corrected 100-amp multi-stage charger. It includes remote on/off functionality and has both 12V lock-in and adjustable low-voltage alternating current (AC) disconnect features. The high performance Freedom SW 3000 offers advanced configuration options for customized performance criteria. The 3000 watt model operates within a wide temperature range and offers high surge capability to start inductive motor loads. It is equipped with dual AC input and output and is compatible with the Xantrex Automatic Generator Start. The Freedom SW Series is designed to meet the requirements of the commercial and utility vehicle markets and is approved to strict UL458 standards.

The Xantrex PROwatt SW Inverters will also be introduced to the commercial and utility vehicle markets. The value-priced PROwatt SW Sine-Wave Inverters offer an affordable alternative to modified sine-wave inverters. When used with the optional remote control panel, the PROwatt SW features ignition lockout which prevents battery drain when the alternator is not providing power. The PROwatt SW series is available in 600, 1000 and 2000 watt 12-volt North American models and in 700, 1400 and 2000 watt 12-volt international models which feature a 240-volt AC SHUKO outlet.

“The release of these new products furthers our commitment to revitalize our product line for the commercial and utility vehicle market.” says Richard Gaudet, Xantrex Mobile Division General Manager. “Our product development teams have designed these innovative, new sine-wave products to satisfy the requirements of both OEM and aftermarket partners.”

In addition to these sine-wave products, Xantrex will also introduce the Truecharge™2 60-amp battery charger, a new addition to the highly successful Truecharge2 line-up of battery chargers.
