Xantrex™ introduces next generation battery monitors for the mobile market: Xantrex LinkPRO and LinkLITE

VANCOUVER, B.C., June 16, 2008 – Xantrex Technology Inc. (TSX:XTX) announces the launch of two next generation battery monitors designed for the mobile market, ideally suited for boats, recreational vehicles and commercial fleet vehicles. The Xantrex LinkPRO Battery Monitor, a high-performance monitor, and the Xantrex LinkLITE Battery Monitor, an affordable alternative, both accurately and easily provide users with key battery data at a glance.
The Xantrex LinkPRO and LinkLITE Battery Monitors give users the ability to easily read their battery bank like a fuel gauge, providing fingertip access to voltage statistics, battery capacity, charge and discharge current. Users can view all of these details on a clear, backlit LCD display, with instant recall available by simply pressing a button.
The Xantrex LinkPRO Battery Monitor represents the evolution of the reliable Xantrex Battery Monitor (XBM), which has been a popular choice for many years. Building upon the success of the XBM, the new LinkPRO now offers multiple new features, including simultaneous voltage monitoring of a second battery bank and expanded amp-hour capacity that is five times greater than the XBM, allowing users to monitor a larger battery bank for an extended period of time. Additional options available solely on the LinkPRO include a temperature sensor and a communications kit for use with a computer.
The Xantrex LinkLITE Battery Monitor is a more affordable alternative to the LinkPRO, with fewer features. It is the first inexpensive battery monitor that allows users to monitor two battery banks simultaneously. In addition, both models have CE approval with FCC Class B, providing exceptional low-electrical interference. They both feature an easy-to-install design with a round bezel, and come equipped with an internal programmable alarm relay that runs a generator when needed, or automatically turns off devices when the battery voltage exceeds programmable limits.
“These battery monitors expand and improve our mobile product line,” said John Wallace, Xantrex CEO. “Versatile products like the Xantrex LinkLITE and LinkPRO are designed to give users peace of mind, knowing that they can count on our reliable battery monitors to consistently deliver accurate data.”
Starting July 2008, the Xantrex LinkPRO and LinkLITE Battery Monitors are available for consumers at West Marine stores in the United States and Canada and for original equipment manufacturers. The manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) is US$349.99 for the Xantrex LinkPRO and US$269.99 for the Xantrex LinkLITE.
