VANCOUVER, B.C., April 3, 2007 – Xantrex Technology Inc. (TSX:XTX) today announced the release of the Xantrex MS3000 Inverter/Charger, establishing a new benchmark for the North American marine industry. With premium features, including true sine wave output, built-in flash memory and a field-serviceable design, the Xantrex MS3000 Inverter/Charger provides boat owners and manufacturers with the flexibility to update functionality, while minimizing downtime and service costs.
A convenient combination of a true sine wave inverter, multistage battery charger and automatic transfer switch, the MS3000 is a product line extension to the existing MS2000, rounding out the family of Xantrex marine inverter/chargers. With its high surge capacity, the MS3000 efficiently powers onboard appliances and electronic devices, providing comfort and safety for boat owners.
“Our new MS3000 Inverter/Charger is a great addition to the Xantrex marine product line. It sets a new standard in this industry, specifically designed to meet the needs of boaters and manufacturers, as we continue to support the needs of the marine industry,” said John Wallace, Xantrex CEO.
The Xantrex MS3000 Inverter/Charger inverts DC power from 12-volt marine batteries to 120-volt household AC power, while its integrated battery charger quickly and completely recharges the batteries when power becomes available. The unit transfers automatically between inverter power and incoming qualified AC power. The MS3000 Inverter/Charger’s true sine wave output meets strict electromagnetic interference standards, designed to minimize interference with radios and other onboard electronics.
With its network-enabled design, the MS3000 Inverter/Charger is easily connected to NMEA 2000 and SMARTCRAFT compatible devices and accessories, sharing power status and diagnostic information. This design makes power management less complex, and intelligently optimizes the use of power resources. The MS3000’s firmware can be easily upgraded so boat owners can take advantage of new features and system enhancements.
Designed to meet UL 458 Marine supplement, ABYC design standards, and stress tested under extreme conditions, the MS3000 Inverter/Charger delivers clean, reliable power in the most demanding marine applications.
