VANCOUVER, B.C., October 29, 2007 – Xantrex Technology Inc. (TSX:XTX) today announced the launch of the 5.0 kilowatt (kW) Xantrex GT 5.0 Grid Tie Solar Inverter in Spain.

The Xantrex GT 5.0 Grid Tie Solar Inverter offers a peak efficiency of 96% and a 95.2% European efficiency rating. High efficiency and a field proven maximum power point tracking maximize energy harvest from GT based solar systems.

With the addition of the GT5.0, the Xantrex GT Series product line offers customers a complete range of single-phase, grid-tie solar inverters from 2.8 kW to 5.0 kW. The GT Series inverters are highly efficient, reliable, compact, light weight, and easy to install in both small residential and larger commercial solar systems.

Designed to work with the large variety of solar modules available in the market, the GT5.0 makes system design and sizing easier with its wide input voltage range of 240 to 600 volts . The inverter also features passive cooling and silent operation without the need for a cooling fan, increasing reliability by eliminating fan maintenance and filter service issues.

The inverter is competitively priced and is backed with a 5-year warranty and an optional 10-year extended warranty. These inverters are IP54 rated and can be used indoors or outdoors, meeting all European requirements including CE and Spain’s Royal Decree.
